The Best Espresso Martinis In Las Vegas
A martini doesn’t always mean alcohol — something mixologist Juyoung Kang at Doberman Drawing Room has embraced with flair. The Arts District’s newest hideaway offers a coffee cheesecake espresso martini that skips the liquor but delivers on flavor with a blend of malt, coffee, and honey. This mocktail is dusted with nutmeg and finished with a surprising sprinkle of Parmesan cheese for a salty, yet creamy infusion. Of course, this drink can be made boozy upon request. In between sips, check out the century-old chandelier and custom stained-glass windows. While membership comes with perks, cocktails can be enjoyed even without paying the $3,000 annual fee.
Doberman Drawing Room Opens in Las Vegas
Las Vegas-based Corner Bar Management has launched a bar called Doberman Drawing Room in the city’s Arts District.Doberman Drawing Room opened its doors on 30 April.
Mixologist and partner Juyoung Kang, previously of Fontainebleau Las Vegas, heads up the bar programme. The menu is shaped by her ‘globally inspired, deeply intentional approach to cocktails’.
“Doberman represents the next evolution of cocktail culture in Las Vegas,” said Ryan Doherty, founder of Corner Bar Management. “It’s a place for people who appreciate the art of a good drink, and even better conversation. With Juyoung’s leadership and vision, we’re excited to offer something that feels both timeless and entirely new.”
The Best Bars In Las Vegas
What is it? A cocktail-forward lounge in a space with taxidermy, vintage knickknacks and novelty artwork.
Why we love it: There is a lot going on at Doberman. The space could easily be mistaken as an antique shop and trophy room. And it’s purposely done. Most of the items on display—we’re talking deer heads and estate sale finds—are part of owner Ryan Doherty’s personal collection. Add some trippy Ben Ashton blurred-line original portraits and you have a room with a distinct look. Award-winning mixologist Juyoung Kang has created a cocktail collection with a clarified milk punch, a martini with lemongrass shochu, and a mezcal meets honeydew cordial.
The Biggest New Las Vegas Restaurant Openings, May 2025
Shelling out $3,000 for a membership is not required in order to visit the Doberman Drawing Room. But the option to do so sure makes the new downtown bar feel exclusive. The latest project from Corner Bar Management veers away from its stomping grounds in the Fremont East District, redoing the old Artisan space with a vintage European chateau aesthetic and a bar with serious cocktail chops. Acclaimed bartender Juyoung Kang’s beverage menu benefits from her decades of experience while leaning joyously into the avant-garde. Expect drinks like the Sahara, a boozy take on horchata, and a creamy Tom Kha Fizz, with a pleasant kick of bird’s eye chile.
Las Vegas’s Newest Avant-Garde Cocktail Bar Opens With an Optional $3,000 Membership
The Doberman Drawing Room made waves a year ago when it released its 20-question application for membership. Now, with more than 5,000 applications turned in and still under consideration, the splashy new bar and members club will make its debut Wednesday, April 30 in the Las Vegas Arts District.
At the helm of the bar program is Juyoung Kang, who designed the first beverage menu for the Fremont Street speakeasy and cocktail destination, the Laundry Room. In the decade since, Kang has continued to leave her mark on Vegas’s cocktail scene, most recently as director of beverage development at Fontainebleu Las Vegas. Now she is reunited with Corner Bar Management to, once again, create unique cocktails for an exclusive bar.
New Las Vegas Nightclub Has Bite, But Elegance
When Ryan Doherty was about 6-years-old, he took interest in a backyard chat his father, Billy, was having with a friend.
The kids didn’t usually pay attention to his dad’s grown-up conversations. But he took notice of how the gentlemen described Ryan’s dog, a doberman named Sheeba.
“They said, ‘They look sleek, elegant and dangerous, but they are incredibly loyal. They look fast standing still,’ ” Doherty says. “This was burned in my memory.”
Doherty started speaking differently to his friends at Cheverus Catholic School, an all-boys institution in the Boston suburb of Malden, Mass.
“I never heard these words before,” Doherty says. “I used ’sleek’ ‘elegant’ and ‘dangerous’ over and over, even for inanimate objects that had none of those qualities. I said, ‘It looks fast even standing still’ about a chalkboard.
”Doherty has held that memory of his doberman. When it was time to attach a name to his new nightspot in the Arts District, he used Doberman as a place-holding title. The name has stuck. Doberman Drawing Room opens to the public April 30.
New Social Club For City’s Secret Savants’ Open In Downtown Vegas
Doberman Drawing Room, the downtown Las Vegas spot blending cocktail culture, private club choosiness and the spirit of a 19th century salon, has announced its opening date.
The bar is planned to debut April 30 at 1025 S. First St., Suite 100. Doberman styles itself as a place “for the sharp and curious, a den for the city’s secret savants,” and true to that ethos, the wild membership application asks questions like what songs are playing when you wake up in hell or heaven.
At the same time, the Doberman also accepts walk-ins, as well as reservations (and membership applications) through dobermandtlv.com.
Juyoung Kang, who helped lead Collins in the Fontainebleau Las Vegas to recognition as one of the best bars in America in 2024 by Esquire magazine, has moved to Doberman to helm the beverage program.
Among her signature cocktails at the bar: a Peter Pepper martini twist with lemongrass shochu, choice of gin or vodka, extra dry vermouth, drops of balsamic vinegar and a pepperoncino, and a Bird’s Eye View mingling a bitter aperitif with di Torino vermouth, passion fruit, coconut and a singe of bird’s eye chili heat.
Doberman encompasses 3,600 square feet, with dark woods, seating that includes booths and an atrium garden. Doberman is the latest project from Corner Bar Management, whose portfolio also features Laundry Room, Commonwealth, Cheapshot and La Mona Rosa.
Top mixologist leaves Strip, lands in downtown Las Vegas
Juyoung Kang, a longtime Las Vegas beverage professional who was among several recent high-profile departures from the Fontainebleau, is setting up shaker at Doberman Drawing Room, set to open in mid-April in downtown Las Vegas.
Doberman is the cool-kids club “for the sharp and curious, a den for the city’s secret savants,” as a branding flourish puts it, with a membership application that asks questions like what songs are playing when you wake up in hell or heaven.
Kang said her mixological approach at Doberman would combine old and new, offering contemporary versions of classic cocktails while also harnessing global influences. “I want guests to experience a passport to different cultures through each sip.”
Answer 20 Questions — and Pay $3K — to Become a Member of Las Vegas’ New Cocktail Bar
More than 4,000 people have filled out applications to become members of the Doberman — a new bar that opens this April in the Las Vegas Arts District. The bar, which features an inventive beverage program developed by one of the city’s top mixologists, will have five different rooms to explore in the old Artifice building, setting the stage for members to revisit prompts from the questionnaire: What do you do for work and, if applicable, what would you rather be doing? Have you ever been in love? Are you afraid of death? You wake up in hell — what song is playing?
Las Vegas’ most anticipated restaurant openings of 2025
The Doberman: The membership application for the private club features questions that mingle offbeat and probing. (Sample: What conspiracy theory do you secretly believe?) The website touts the Doberman, 1025 S. First St., as a place for “your favorite drink, in your favorite seat, while your favorite song plays, with your new favorite people.” That’s purebred.
